Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our team at Advocate Health. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless patient registration and access to our healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient information and insurance coverage to ensure accurate registration and billing.
  • Collect and process patient payments, including co-insurance and co-payments.
  • Authorize and precertify inpatient and outpatient services to ensure timely and efficient care.
  • Participate in departmental team building activities and contribute to a positive work environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 1 year of experience in patient access or a related field preferred.
  • Intermediate math skills and basic understanding of web-based systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of our patients and organization.

Additional Responsibilities

At our offsite imaging centers, you will also be responsible for performing additional activities to facilitate patient flow and transition, including:

  • Performing Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) for exams accurately and completely.
  • Performing light duty cleaning of changing areas as needed.
  • Printing patient results CDs and distributing them to patients while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  • Escorting patients to changing areas as needed.

This job description indicates the general nature and level of work expected of the incumbent. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties as assigned by their leader.
