Job Description:

As a Program Manager at L3Harris, you will be responsible for the schedule, budget, and scope compliance of a $30M annual execution budget. You will coordinate with roughly 100 program team members and serve as the point of customer contact for reporting status, maintaining scope control, and negotiation.

This role requires a strong leader who can direct experienced professionals, lower-level supervisors, or associate managers. You will communicate within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to policies, practices, or approaches. You will make significant improvements in processes, systems, or products and establish short-term operational plans with measurable contribution to function or business area results.

This position requires management and leadership knowledge in job area and comprehensive knowledge within professional discipline. You will manage individual(s) typically consisting of experienced professionals or lower-level supervisors or associate managers. You will lead, direct, and review the work of direct report(s) who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments.

You will have hiring, firing, promotion, and compensation authority within your own organization, in accordance with management review and approval. You will report to a Senior Manager or higher.

This role requires the ability to communicate with parties within and outside of the organization, including customers or vendors. You will work to influence others to accept individual or team's views or practices and changes to concepts, practices, and approaches. You will require the ability to communicate with leadership regarding matters of importance to the function or business area.

You may conduct briefings with senior leaders. This role consists of making significant improvements of processes, systems, solutions, or products to enhance performance of job area. You may develop new concepts or standards. Opportunities for problem-solving and innovation are undefined, where information is difficult to obtain. You will conduct extensive investigation to understand root cause of problems. Problems span a wide range of difficult and unique issues across the function and/or business area.

You will manage a team with focus on policy and strategy implementation. You will establish operational plans with measurable contribution towards the achievement of results of the job function. Focus is on short-term operational plans (e.g. less than 1 year). You will provide measurable input of new products, processes, or standards in operational plans that will have some impact on the achievement of overall functional results.

You will typically not have budget or Profit & Loss (P&L) accountability, but may manage certain processes or projects within a defined budget set by management.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in management, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or other related scientific OR technical discipline related field (or equivalent)
  • 15 years program management experience. Experience includes increasing management responsibility with 6 years in a supervisory role. Relevant experience should be with DoD Program(s)
  • Shall possess a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Conceptual knowledge of U.S. Navy Integrated Training Systems
  • Experience with cost, schedule, and performance as it relates to program execution
  • Program and Personnel Management
  • Financial Management
  • Risk Management Policies and Assessment
  • Program Management experience running a large support services contract with multiple subcontractors
  • Secret clearance required
