Primary Role:
Join wax patterns to a sprue stick with precision, ensuring a high-quality assembly even for complex and heavy components.

Tools and Equipment Utilized:
Hot irons, clippers, hot wires, rework tools, angles, Bunsen burner, holding racks, spacers, putty knives, electronic media, H2O welder, and more.

Materials Handled:
Diverse types of pattern wax, stictite, ceramic pouring cups, sprue handles, among others.

Operational Procedures:
Under the guidance of the department supervisor and/or the Senior Assembler, the following are the typical primary responsibilities, though this description does not limit the performance of additional tasks by the incumbent.

  • Must comply with all safety protocols as indicated on the job safety card.
  • Will receive daily assignments from the department supervisor or group leader.

  • Is expected to consistently adhere to all relevant work instructions.
  • Will assemble sprues following electronically provided instructions, requiring careful handling due to the size and delicacy of the wax patterns and complex gating to ensure quality assembly.

  • Will hang all finished assemblies on the conveyor after thorough inspection.
  • Must complete hazardous material/waste handling training successfully.
  • Will maintain accurate labor vouchers, records, and logs, entering all necessary information into the company software promptly.

  • Must complete lockout/tag out training successfully.
  • Will keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Must undergo training in proper lifting techniques.
  • Will perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Work Environment:
Tasks are to be conducted in a climate-controlled setting, kept as free from contaminants as possible.

Required Skills:
Must possess adequate strength and manual dexterity to meet the physical demands of the position. A basic understanding of personal computers and related software is also necessary.
