About the Position

This is a diagnostic radiologic technologist position located in the Diagnostic section, Department of Radiology, Clinical Support Services Directorate in a Military Treatment Facility under DHA.

This position will work 2nd shift and is responsible for performing diagnostic CT examinations/procedures, including neuro, chest, abdominal, chest, pediatric, extremity, body, and muscular skeletal examinations.

The selected candidate will assist the supervisor in developing quality control procedures for new radiologic examinations and modifying existing procedures as needed.

Additionally, the technologist will monitor equipment status indicators to prevent damage, receive patients, explain methods and safety precautions of procedures, start IVs when needed, position patients, and produce necessary images for the requested examination.

The selected candidate will also prepare reports on any event or incident related to the quality of service provided by the department.

Requirements

This position requires a job-related license or certification. The selected candidate must submit a copy of their license or certification with their application package.

The position also requires a personnel security investigation and a pre-employment physical.

The selected candidate will be required to sign a statement consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or provide a recognized exemption.

Immunization screening is required, and the selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross.

The position may require the incumbent to work on call during irregular work hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, the selected candidate must have one year of specialized experience performing diagnostic CT examinations/procedures, maintaining records of patients treated, examinations performed, scans taken, etc., and maintaining radiographic/emergency equipment through quality control.

The selected candidate must also meet the basic requirement for diagnostic radiologic technologist, which includes radiology certification and a personnel security investigation.

The position is open to US citizens, and the selected candidate will be required to provide proof of U.S. citizenship.

The position may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
