Job Summary

This position is located at the Defense Health Agency, Department of Radiology, Fort Belvoir, Virginia. The selected candidate will work as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist, performing diagnostic CT examinations and procedures, including neuro, chest, abdominal, and extremity scans.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radiologic technology, with experience in CT scanning and a certification in radiography. The selected candidate will work independently, making examinations after conferring with the radiologist to establish the examination requirements.

The selected candidate will also be responsible for monitoring equipment status indicators to prevent damage, preparing reports on any event or incident related to the quality of service provided by the department, and assisting the supervisor in developing quality control procedures for new radiologic examinations.

The selected candidate will work Monday through Friday, 1430 to 2300 hours, with two 8-hour days on weekends. The position requires a Direct Hire Solicitation, and the selected candidate will be required to undergo a background check and obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic CT examinations and procedures, including neuro, chest, abdominal, and extremity scans.
  • Monitor equipment status indicators to prevent damage.
  • Prepare reports on any event or incident related to the quality of service provided by the department.
  • Assist the supervisor in developing quality control procedures for new radiologic examinations.

Qualifications:

  • Basic Requirement for Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (Computed Tomography): Radiology Certification.
  • One year of specialized experience in performing diagnostic CT examinations and procedures, administering contrast for CT exams, and maintaining proper equipment.
  • Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field directly related to the work of the position.
