The Heico Companies is seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our Purchasing department. As a key member of our team, you will report directly to the Vice President of Operations. Your primary responsibilities will include the day-to-day release of Purchase Orders to support manufacturing and Customer Orders. You will be the primary interface between manufacturing plant operations and Materials Manager, implementing negotiated PO terms and conditions. You will also monitor order status and past due reports, expedite and de-expedite orders, and initiate/conduct supplier interface and meetings. Additionally, you will champion special needs/projects as directed by Materials Manager, negotiate lead-time and min/mult. requirements, and establish appropriate safety stock levels. You will also monitor supplier quality and delivery performance and initiate corrective action. To be successful in this role, you will need to have 3 to 5 years of purchasing, materials, or scheduling experience, an Associate Degree, or equivalent experience. You will also need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and order replenishment techniques, and self-started with excellent organizational skills. Strong negotiation skills and computer skills, including Information Systems and Microsoft Office, are also required. Experience with buying Raw Materials and MRO type items is a plus. The ideal candidate will have a high energy level, superior concentration, analytical, and communication skills.
