Job Opportunity: Full Time Faculty in Computer Science

Howard Community College is seeking a dynamic and student-centered full-time faculty member to join the Cyber Technology department to teach in the Computer Science field.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach classes in several programming languages, including Python, C++, and Java.
  • Design, develop, and assess course content within the curriculum area.
  • Participate in departmental and college committees.
  • Collaborate with HCC's partners and/or corporate institutions.
  • Attend in-person department and division meetings.
  • Serve as an academic advisor and mentor.
  • Coordinate or support, as lead faculty, the content area through the hiring and support of adjunct faculty and through the management of course scheduling and curriculum development.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • One year of work experience in Computer Science or a related field.
  • A minimum of one year of college-level teaching and learning methods/pedagogy.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Willingness to complete additional training or certifications is required.
  • Knowledge of C++, Java, and/or Python; other programming languages would be considered with additional work/teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in college-level teaching in Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).
