About the Position

Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) is seeking an experienced educator in photography to join our faculty. As a full-time faculty member, you will teach undergraduate studio classes and participate in departmental and institutional service.

Responsibilities
  • Teach three undergraduate studio classes each semester
  • Participate in departmental and institutional service

Qualifications
  • A Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in photography, digital photography, digital media, or a related visual arts field
  • Teaching experience at the college level
  • Demonstrated knowledge in photographic history, theory, and criticism
  • Demonstrated knowledge of digital and analog processes and tools in contemporary image-making art practice
  • A record of professional accomplishment, as demonstrated by a portfolio of professional work and an exhibition and/or publication record
About the Department

The Department of Animation and Media Arts at MICA is a newly formed department that brings together programs in 2D, 3D, and stop-motion animation, game design, film/video, interactive arts, photography, and sound arts. We offer BFA degrees in Animation, Photography, and Interactive Arts, and an MFA in Filmmaking.
