Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

Richardson Electronics, Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental laws and regulations, implementing sustainable practices, and mitigating potential risks associated with hazardous materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement environmental management systems to ensure compliance with RCRA, CAA, and CWA regulations.
  • Manage OSHA requirements for diverse manufacturing facilities, including reporting and data management.
  • Develop and implement Environmental Sustainability programs to reduce carbon footprint and GHG emissions.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and submit required environmental reports to regulatory agencies.
  • Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste procedures, including coordination with external vendors.
  • Lead efforts to minimize environmental impact through waste reduction, recycling programs, and energy conservation initiatives.
  • Monitor air and water quality, hazardous material handling, and pollution prevention measures.
  • Respond to environmental incidents, assist in investigations, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Stay informed about regulatory compliance changes and ensure company policies and practices are updated accordingly.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, occupational health and safety, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting, with in-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and hazardous materials management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Experience working within ISO9001 and ISO13485 certifications is preferred.

Working Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a dynamic office, manufacturing, and warehouse environment, with some manual labor and evening/weekend work required. Hazardous materials training will be provided as needed.
