Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

Richardson Electronics, Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental laws and regulations, implementing sustainable practices, and mitigating potential risks associated with hazardous materials.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement environmental management systems for RCRA, CAA, and CWA, including reporting and data management.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements for diverse manufacturing facilities.
- Manage low-level radioactive material management and develop strategies for environmental sustainability.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare and submit required environmental reports to regulatory agencies.
- Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste procedures, including coordination with external vendors and documentation.
- Lead efforts to minimize environmental impact through waste reduction, recycling programs, and energy conservation initiatives.
- Monitor air and water quality, hazardous material handling, and pollution prevention measures.
- Respond to environmental incidents, assist in investigations, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Stay informed about regulatory compliance changes and ensure company policies and practices are updated accordingly.
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, occupational health and safety, or a related field with 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations (EPA, OSHA, etc.) and hazardous materials management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Experience working within ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certifications is preferred.
The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will work in a dynamic office, manufacturing, and warehouse environment, with some manual labor and evening/weekend work required. Hazardous materials training will be provided as needed.
