Position Overview

As a Training Development Specialist, you will play a vital role within the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, specifically in the Public Works Department's Production Division, Maintenance Control Branch.

Key Responsibilities
You will collaborate with Training Leaders and Coordinators to ensure comprehensive training requirements are fulfilled and accurately documented.

Your role will involve creating training materials by analyzing educational challenges, establishing design criteria, and innovating new methodologies and techniques.


Your Duties Will Include:
• Organizing, facilitating, and delivering various New Employee Orientation sessions.


• Managing multiple responsibilities such as training courses and events while demonstrating strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

• Leading and coordinating efforts to provide exceptional training support to employees and instructors.

• Researching and sourcing online resources for complimentary on-site training and vendor options.

Qualifications

Your application must reflect at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in federal service or comparable experience in the private or public sector.


Specialized Experience Should Include:


• Conducting research to produce or update original materials that incorporate advancements, methodologies, or diverse fields of knowledge in educational technology.

• Monitoring and reporting on training readiness to support operational needs.

• Analyzing Individual Development Plans (IDPs) to aid in training strategies and identify training gaps.

• Applying training methods and instructional techniques to develop curriculum and assessments for formal training settings.

• Collaborating with facility management to ensure that modifications to training environments comply with safety and security standards.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, candidates may qualify through the following educational background or a combination of education and experience:


• For the GS-09 level: Successful completion of a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree OR two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR an LL.B. or J.D. if relevant.
