Risk Management Associate

Capital One is seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Associate to join our Enterprise Sanctions team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting critical risk management activities that involve the screening of Capital One customers and their transactions against watchlists to detect and prevent sanctions violations, money laundering, terrorist financing, and other financial crime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, prepare, and distribute regular and ad-hoc reports for the department, including Weekly Inventory Reporting, Monthly Business Review (MBR) reporting, Quarterly Compliance Review (QCR) reporting, and other performance and organizational health reporting, as necessary
  • Identify data trends and provide insights for investigative and operational improvement and solve for them using analysis
  • Ensure data in reports is accurate and delivered timely
  • Work closely with colleagues across Capital One including IT, Operations, Advisory and others to gather data and understand reporting needs, as well as offer oversight to enterprise wide objectives such as controls and change management
  • Strategic & analytic orientation: A proven track record of decision making and problem solving using data analysis and analytics
  • Strong business judgment, leadership and integrity: He/she should be a tenacious decision maker, able to bring a healthy, aggressive, yet responsible approach to business
  • Strong communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials to present reports in a clear and concise manner
  • Training & support: Provide training and support to colleagues on reporting tools
  • Clear results orientation: Display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals. He/she should be able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment
  • Successful track record of thriving in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment. Previous consulting experience is a plus

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in reporting or data analysis
  • At least 2 years of experience with Excel or Google Sheets and PowerPoint or Google Slides

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Math, Statistics, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • 1+ years of experience in Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • 1 + years of experience using Tableau
