Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Phlebotomy Technician to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a Phlebotomy Technician, you will be responsible for performing specimen collection, phlebotomy, and drug test monitoring in our Referral Lab.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and process blood and other specimens for laboratory testing
  • Perform phlebotomy procedures, including venipuncture and capillary puncture
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of specimen collection and testing
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate testing results
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers
Requirements
  • State of California Phlebotomy License (Certified Phlebotomy Tech I)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a laboratory or healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures and protocols
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with laboratory information systems
