ECU Health Edgecombe Hospital is a comprehensive, 117-bed acute care institution dedicated to providing a variety of health services to the residents of Tarboro and nearby areas.

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering care in alignment with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, the American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, and other established professional standards. Nursing care will be executed in accordance with ECU Health's policies and specific nursing protocols.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide and coordinate nursing care, including the collection and analysis of assessment data.
- Identify expected outcomes and develop a comprehensive plan of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Implement interventions as outlined in the care plan, monitor patient progress, and document all activities.
- Address the unique needs of patients and families, ensuring sensitivity to age-specific requirements.
- Foster effective collaboration within the healthcare team to meet the needs of patients and families throughout their care journey.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities as permitted by the NC Nurse Practice Act.

Minimum Qualifications

- Diploma in Nursing, Associate's Degree in Nursing, or higher.
- Current RN license in North Carolina or eligibility to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
- Basic Life Support certification is mandatory.

Additional Information

This position is part-time, requiring 24 hours of work per week, including weekends and holidays.

Patient Population

The primary patient demographic includes critically ill or seriously injured individuals who require advanced nursing care, as well as patients with varying levels of acuity. Our services also extend to patients with limited access to healthcare in rural areas.

- Pulse Oximetry
- Intravenous anti-arrhythmic and vaso-active infusions
- Intravenous insulin therapy
- Mechanical ventilator support and intubations
- Emergency response for Code Strokes and Code Sepsis
- Mental health interventions
- Life-saving procedures
- Trauma stabilization and transport
- General health care services
