Position Overview
The Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, and other relevant professional standards. Nursing care will be executed in alignment with ECU Health and specific nursing policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate nursing care, including:
- Collection and analysis of assessment data
- Identification of expected outcomes
- Development of care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Implement interventions to achieve expected outcomes
- Evaluate patient progress and document care processes
- Address age-specific and unique needs of patients and families
- Promote effective teamwork within the healthcare team
- Collaborate with team members to address the identified needs of patients and families throughout their care journey
- Delegate tasks and activities as appropriate under the NC Nurse Practice Act.
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma in Nursing, Associate's Degree in Nursing, or higher
- Current NC RN license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state
- Basic Life Support certification is required.
Additional Information
This is a part-time role, offering 24 hours per week, with part-time benefits available. Weekend and holiday shifts are included.
Patient Population
The primary patient population includes critically ill or seriously injured individuals requiring skilled nursing care, as well as patients with varying levels of acuity. The department also serves patients with limited access to healthcare in rural areas.
