Position Overview
The Physical Therapist is responsible for delivering direct patient care through assessment and treatment tailored to the specific patient population based on age and condition. This role emphasizes continuous professional development and leadership while fulfilling competency requirements. The therapist will also engage in team dynamics and interdisciplinary collaboration as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care by assessing, establishing goals, designing treatment plans, executing therapies, re-evaluating progress, and participating in discharge planning while providing education to patients and caregivers.
- Adjust workload to accommodate patient care demands, including modifying scheduled hours as needed. Ensure patient safety in treatment areas and report any unsafe conditions to management.
- Complete documentation accurately and promptly in accordance with hospital policies, and maintain effective communication with healthcare professionals and patients.
- Meet clinical productivity standards and pursue ongoing education to enhance professional skills, sharing knowledge with colleagues.
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of policies and procedures, attend mandatory meetings, and assist in training new staff.
Participation in Program Development
Actively engage in establishing program goals and objectives, budget management, staff utilization, quality improvement initiatives, and overall program development.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral Degree from an APTA Accredited Physical Therapy program.
- Current valid license or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist by the appropriate regulatory board.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hospital environment as a Physical Therapist.
- Active licensure in the state of practice.
