We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to join our Nephrology team at MD Anderson Cancer Center. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, education, and support to patients with kidney disorders and diseases.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct medical services to patients within your scope of expertise, including history and physical exams, dictating medical records, and ordering diagnostic tests and imaging studies.
- Assist in the formulation and execution of treatment plans specific to Nephrology, including managing common general medical problems and prescribing medication consistent with departmental delegated prescriptive authority protocols.
- Provide necessary patient education on their medical condition, potential treatment benefits, risks, and alternative treatment options.
- Support departmental research by obtaining protocol information and identifying potential patients for protocol studies.
- Master's Degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice.
- Written authorization from the Texas Board of Nursing to function as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
- Authorization for limited prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing.
