Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist II to join our team at Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating and developing therapy plans for patients with a broad range of diagnoses and acuities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients to identify their level of function and develop a treatment plan to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Implement the occupational therapy treatment plan, providing education to patients, family members, and caregivers as needed.
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to modify the treatment plan and ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Provide education and training to less experienced staff, including therapists and technicians.
  • Assist with the collection of quality metrics and analytics, contributing to the development of best practices and process improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for occupational therapists.
  • Three years of experience as an occupational therapist, or two years of experience with a Doctorate degree, or completion of a HM or comparable occupational therapy fellowship/residency program.
  • State licensure and compact license acceptable according to current Board requirements within 90 days.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong assessment, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to function independently and handle challenging therapy procedures and patient care situations.
  • Proficient computer knowledge and ability to operate multiple computer systems and standard rehabilitation equipment.
