Job Summary:

The Occupational Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered care by managing the complete process of occupational therapeutic care of an assigned group of patients, in coordination with the physician and the patient care team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients who have impairments, functional limitations, disabilities or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease, or other causes, and synthesize the data to establish a plan of care with therapeutic interventions and goals appropriate to patient's age and development.
  • Document evaluations (admission and discharge), modifications in treatment plan of care, and response to occupational therapy interventions.
  • Determine the efficacy of therapeutic interventions, technologies and outcomes and the utilization of COTA's, students and support personnel.
  • Work as a part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team with other therapists, nurses, physicians, allied health professionals to deliver a team approach to each patient.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy is required. Master's degree is preferred.
  • Occupational Therapy License issued by the Texas State Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners is required.
  • 1 year of experience in an Occupational Therapy Setting: Acute, Inpatient Rehab, Pediatrics, or Outpatient setting is preferred.
  • Current BLS certification is required.
