Job Summary

MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide clinical support to our occupational therapy team. As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Administer occupational therapy care programs or portions thereof as planned and directed by a licensed occupational therapist.

Document service delivery and submit all required documentation according to department standards.

Meet all department productivity standards and demonstrate financial accountability in areas of billing, support documentation, and conservation of all resources.

Participate in maintenance of work area, departmental meetings, and education of students, support personnel, and other healthcare professionals.

Participate in department performance improvement projects.

Supervision

Received: Direct supervision by the occupational therapist for whom care is being performed. Clinical supervision by Supervisor, Occupational Therapy, and general supervision by the Director and Associate Director, Rehabilitation Services.

Given: Assigned staff.

Requirements

Education Required: Associate's Degree. Completion of an Occupational Therapist Assistant Program accredited by the American Occupational Therapist Assistant Association.

Education Preferred: None.

Experience Required: None.

Experience Preferred: None

Licensure/Certification Required: Current Occupational Therapist Assistant licensed issued by the Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners.

Education Required: Associate's Degree. Completion of an Occupational Therapist Assistant Program accredited by the American Occupational Therapist Assistant Association.

Licenses Required: Current Occupational Therapist Assistant license issued by the Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification (CPR).
