Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Master Social Worker to join our multidisciplinary treatment team as an Admissions Coordinator. The successful candidate will possess a license and current registration as a licensed master social worker in New York State.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview clients and review medical/psychiatric history to complete assessments as part of treatment plan development.
  • Assess individual and family needs, strengths, and limitations to determine the best course of action.
  • Complete required client and facility admissions documentation, adhering to applicable OASAS procedures and confidentiality regulations.
  • Provide orientation to clients regarding the nature of the treatment facility, including its programs, activities, policies, and rules.
  • Record significant psychosocial events and/or changes in clinical condition.
  • Determine individual needs for referral to community-based services.
  • Serve as a resource to other team members regarding social adjustment, discharge service needs, and the effective utilization of community services.
  • May provide individual, group, and family counseling, as well as crisis intervention.
  • May provide clinical consultation and assistance to members of the professional staff and members of the treatment team, under the clinical supervision of a licensed clinical social worker, psychologist, or psychiatrist.
  • Prepare reports and maintain all records as required.
Requirements
  • Prospective appointees will be checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs.
  • Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment and may have their names removed from the eligible list(s) for the title(s) if applicable.
  • Prospective employees will be investigated through a Criminal Background Check (CBC) that includes State and federal Criminal History Record Checks.
  • Prospective employees will be screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR).
