We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of Information Technology/Assurance (IT/IA) Specialist II. This position plays a critical role in supporting the Air Force (AF) Special Access Program (SAP) Security Support Services (SSS), which is essential for overseeing enhanced National Security Objectives that align with AF SAP interests.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage complex operational software configurations and system interfaces for assigned computer systems.
  • Oversee file servers, firewalls, network access, and security monitoring systems, ensuring all documentation is maintained as required.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot system anomalies to guarantee optimal performance of equipment.
  • Prepare systems for operational use and support testing activities.
  • Review and update authorization packages, notifying stakeholders of any changes that may impact accreditation.
  • Conduct cybersecurity assessments as part of self-inspection checklists.
  • Provide technical and cybersecurity coordination for all Bodies of Evidence that constitute the authorization package.
  • Identify vulnerabilities and implement effective countermeasures.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and practices for information systems and network appliances.
  • Administer and configure Video Teleconferencing (VTC) systems.
  • Deliver client support for external information systems.
  • Manage account creation, modifications, and deletions across multiple authorization boundaries.
  • Perform help desk and troubleshooting tasks.
  • Conduct hardware and software system configurations, upgrades, and modifications.
  • Execute system and network appliance patching activities.
  • Support government-issued laptop management.
  • Assist in media control and accountability efforts.
  • Manage COMSEC account and equipment activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (4 years).
  • 5 - 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Previous roles as a System or Network Administrator or Information Technology/Assurance Specialist are preferred.
  • Must meet the requirements for Information Assurance Technician Level II or Information Assurance Manager II (DoD 8570) within 6 months of hire.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2012R2, Microsoft Exchange Server 2010/2016, and Windows 7/10 operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies, including data backup and communication security (COMSEC) integration.
  • Understanding of Risk Management Framework, SCI Information Systems Security Standards, and System Security Policy related to Assessment and Authorizations (A&A).
  • Experience with PL2 systems; familiarity with PL3 & PL4 cross-domain solutions is a plus.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Prior active duty in the U.S. Air Force is advantageous.
