As a Security Control Assessor, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments of management, operational, and technical security controls employed within or inherited by an Information System (IS) to determine the overall effectiveness of the controls./ppThe ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience, with 7-9 years of related experience. Prior performance in the role of Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and Information System Security Manager (ISSM) or Security Control Assessor is highly desirable. The candidate must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive M for Information Assurance Technician Level III or Information Assurance Manager Level II within 6 months of the date of hire./ppThe selected candidate will be responsible for performing oversight of the development, implementation, and evaluation of IS security program policy, with a special emphasis on integration of existing Special Access Program (SAP) network infrastructure. They will also perform assessments of ISs based on the Risk Management Framework (RMF) methodology in accordance with the Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG)./ppThe Security Control Assessor will advise the Information System Owner (ISO), Information Data Owner (IDO), Program Security Officer (PSO), and the Delegated and/or Authorizing Official (DAO/AO) on any assessment and authorization issues. They will evaluate Authorization packages and make recommendations to the AO and/or DAO for authorization./ppThe ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SAP, SCI, and Collateral Information Systems (IS) Security, as well as the implementation of regulations identified in the description of duties.
