Job Summary

The Surgical Technologist II role at Lee's Summit Medical Center is a critical member of the OR team, providing exceptional patient care and supporting the surgical process. As a Vascular Technologist, you will assist in the care of patients undergoing open and endovascular procedures, requiring a strong understanding of the surgical process and ability to anticipate the needs of the surgeon.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the OR team in the care of patients, equipment, and supplies
  • Provide care for patients of all ages, from birth to geriatric
  • Understand and anticipate the needs of the surgeon during the surgical procedure
  • Ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and maintain a sterile field
  • Assist the surgeon and/or surgical assistant during the operative procedure
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Certified Operating Room Technicians (CORT)
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) preferred
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required upon hire
  • Competent to perform as first scrub in three of the four following specialty areas: Robotic, Total Joints, Neuro/Spine, and Vascular Surgery
