POSITION TITLE: Logistics and Shipping Coordinator
SALARY: $16.00 per hour

REPORTS TO: General Manager
Position SummaryThe Logistics and Shipping Coordinator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment, including forklifts and electric pallet jacks, to facilitate the movement of products within the shipping department. This role ensures that products are processed in compliance with company standards and USDA regulations, maintaining quality throughout the shipping process.
Key Responsibilities- Efficiently load and unload products while ensuring safety and accuracy.
- Transport products to designated storage areas, stacking and storing them appropriately.
- Navigate forklifts and pallet jacks in confined spaces, verifying product counts and shipments.
- Prepare orders for shipment with precision.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and effectively as required.
- Inspect products for accuracy and damage.
- Utilize Radio Frequency (RF) terminals to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Accurately enter data to create advance shipment notifications for customers.
- Manually pick orders as necessary.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED; one year of relevant experience and/or training; one year of forklift operation experience; familiarity with RF scan guns or equivalent experience.
Required Skills and Abilities- Proficient in reading and writing English.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to work in varying temperature conditions.
- Willingness to work early hours, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic understanding of shipping materials and production processes.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively.
- Competence in basic math and accurate counting.
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles.
- Basic computer skills are preferred.
