About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Power Systems Safety Engineer to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our Lunar Permanence business unit, you will play a critical role in the development of our Blue Moon lander product lines.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing system safety processes and work products necessary to support the lifecycle development of vehicle power architectures. This includes developing Plans for Hardware Aspects of Certification (PHAC), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Hazard Sheets, and Architecture Safety Allocation.

You will work closely with our Vehicle Systems Engineers to ensure commonality across safety products and collaborate with our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program.

Responsibilities
  • Develop Plans for Hardware Aspects of Certification (PHAC), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Hazard Sheets, and Architecture Safety Allocation.
  • Support in developing Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA), reliability analysis, and developing mitigation plans for EPS at the subsystem and component levels.
  • Ensure traceability between subsystem and component functions, requirements, and safety artifacts.
  • Collaborate with Vehicle Systems Engineers to ensure commonality across safety products.
Requirements
  • B.S. degree or equivalent relevant experience in a related field.
  • Strong understanding of electrical power systems and safety principles.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
