Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Phoenix Children's Hospital. As a Surgical Technologist in our Pediatric Operating Room, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Certification and Licensure
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
    • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certified Surgical Technologist (Tech in Surgery) certification from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) is preferred.
  • Job Requirements
    • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
    • Completion of a Surgical Technician program or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience is required.
    • At least 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist in a surgery setting is required.
    • At least 2 years of experience in a pediatric Operating Room setting is required.
  • Work Environment
    • COVID-19 vaccination is recommended but not required.
    • Flu vaccination will be required from October through April.
    • Flu exemption applications must be received and approved by Phoenix Children's prior to starting.
  • Job Duties
    • Perform a variety of technical functions and duties to provide for the availability of supplies and equipment.
    • Maintain a sterile field for operating procedures.
