Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Primary Care team in Kingston, NY. As an LPN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, including vital signs, injections, and medication administration.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week with 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and possess basic life support certification.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients in the waiting area and escort them to clinical areas
  • Answer patient questions regarding their appointment, treatment, and follow-up
  • Telephone call-backs and telephone care as directed by the physician/provider and RN
  • Patient counseling and education as directed by the provider
  • Focusing on patient needs while maintaining an organized and efficient workflow
  • Responsible for HPN and NYSIIS immunization registration, reprinting, and account updates
  • Ensuring patients have follow-up testing and appointments with physicians
  • Preparation of medical records in advance of appointments
  • Assisting patients with completion of patient summaries, medication/allergy reconciliation at every office visit
  • Preparing patients and exam rooms, chaperoning, and assisting physicians/providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments if needed
  • Administering and documenting injections, dispensing and documenting medications as directed by the physician/provider
  • Labeling and handling labs, paps, cultures, biopsies, and other specimens; preparation of laboratory and imaging requisitions
  • Assisting with coordination of further patient care and follow-up, and carrying out tasks as directed by the RN and/or physician/provider
  • Cleaning and preparing exam rooms for next encounters

Requirements:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of starting
  • Licensed Practical Nurse licensure
  • Basic medical knowledge and terminology
  • Computer skills/data entry
  • Skilled in obtaining accurate patient vitals
  • Vaccine administration and medication preparation

Salary Range:

$24.15 - $41.32 hourly
