Job Summary:

To provide high-quality diagnostic ultrasound services in a hospital and/or clinical setting, utilizing expertise in OB/GYN, abdominal, and vascular superficial structures. Additionally, perform clerical duties as required, promoting team concepts and reflecting the Kaiser Permanente Mission and philosophy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic procedures, utilizing knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the age of the patient served, including routine, emergent, portable, and surgical examinations in accordance with department policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with radiologists to ensure accurate and timely results.
  • Assist patients and transport them as needed.
  • Review exams, file work, restock supplies, and perform quality assurance functions.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited ultrasonography program or 2 years of previous ultrasound experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Required Certifications:

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certificate in Ob-Gyn or Abdomen from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  • Sonography Technologist License (Oregon).
  • Basic Life Support certification within 1 month of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience performing ultrasound exams, preferably within the last 3 years.
  • Vascular ultrasonography experience preferred.

Additional Requirements:

NOTE:
Oregon Board of Medical Imaging License required for positions assigned in Oregon (OBMI) ONLY.
Daily use of diagnostic equipment, imaging, and healthcare computer systems.
Demonstrates customer-focused service skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
