The International Foodservice Manufacturers Association (IFMA) is dedicated to enhancing the lives and livelihoods of individuals by fostering a robust foodservice industry. The IFMA serves as a pivotal hub for business development within the food and beverage sector, driving innovation and leadership.

The association is instrumental in nurturing business expansion and job creation by linking enterprises and entrepreneurs with essential resources for growth and success.
Role Overview:


The Strategic Growth Advisor will collaborate closely with the Executive Director and Business Development Manager to deliver business mentorship, technical knowledge, and strategic direction to the association's entrepreneurs and corporate participants, aiming to cultivate sustainable economic development and introduce innovative solutions to the market.

To excel in this position, the Strategic Growth Advisor will:

Work in partnership with the Executive Director, Business Development Manager, and program staff to develop and execute strategies that enhance the foodservice industry's growth.

Engage with companies and other stakeholders to foster partnerships that provide participants with vital resources, including industry insights, research, innovation, mentorship, business collaborations, supply chain connections, and funding opportunities.

Build and maintain essential relationships for participants by guiding them toward the resources necessary for business development and growth.

Assist participants in refining critical business tools such as strategic plans and presentations, while offering insights on governance, organizational structure, operations, and team dynamics.

Act as the primary liaison for participant initiatives involving research partnerships, facility development, and funding opportunities.
Provide guidance on government incentives and funding sources to support economic development.

Ability to incorporate diverse perspectives, particularly from underrepresented communities.

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the foodservice, agriculture, or related sectors, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Prior experience in Economic Development, Management, Business Strategy, Finance, or Operations.
Strong networking and communication skills with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Proficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating independence and decision-making capabilities that impact organizational success.

Experience in overseeing complex projects and priorities, with a keen attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Proficient in utilizing technology for data management and analysis.
Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and economic advancement in the foodservice sector.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience mentoring startups and growth-stage companies;
Leadership experience within the foodservice industry;
Background in founding or scaling a foodservice enterprise;
Familiarity with federal, state, and local economic development initiatives.
