Wound Care Specialist Responsibilities:

The Wound Care Specialist will be tasked with visiting patients in skilled nursing facilities to deliver high-quality wound care, interventions, and specialized treatments. This role involves collaborating with the facility to enhance patient care and achieve improved healing outcomes. Additionally, the Specialist will communicate with the Healing Partners team regarding specific treatment updates and care plans.

  • Assess and manage resident healthcare in long-term care environments.
  • Travel daily to various facilities, with regions determined by scheduling needs.
  • Treat both chronic and acute wound-related conditions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external wound care teams.
  • Work alongside the medical director to ensure optimal care for residents and staff.
  • Apply and manage topical wound care and related products.
  • Recommend additional services to enhance wound healing results.
  • Educate patients and Primary Care Physicians on contemporary wound management techniques.
Qualifications:
  • Must hold a valid license as a Physical Therapist.
  • Degree obtained from an accredited Physical Therapy program (B.S., MPT, MSPT, DPT).
Skills and Competencies:
  • Proficient in modalities and procedures related to wound healing.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, function, and structure.
  • Knowledgeable about safety standards in clinical settings.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Exemplary interpersonal communication skills.
  • Timely and accurate documentation capabilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication with patients and facility staff.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 100 pounds to assist residents.
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds for routine tasks.
  • Must be able to push/pull over 70 pounds during patient care.
  • Requires bending, squatting, kneeling, and twisting as part of patient care.
  • Depth perception necessary for medical procedures.
Work Environment:
  • Potential exposure to various environmental conditions, bloodborne pathogens, and physical hazards.
  • Travel to multiple Skilled Nursing Facilities in the local area.
  • COVID-19 vaccination is a requirement for this position.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $95,000 - $120,000 annually

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Work Location: On the road
