Job Summary

The University of California, Irvine is seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer to join our team. As an Athletic Trainer, you will provide critical support to our physicians and patients, assisting with day-to-day operations, patient intake, and review of necessary records. You will also assist with patient prep and education, post-operative procedures, DME fitting/ordering, gait training, and other duties as requested.

Responsibilities
  • Provide physician support and outreach, assisting with day-to-day operations, patient intake, and review of necessary records.
  • Assist with patient prep and education, post-operative procedures, DME fitting/ordering, gait training, and other duties as requested.
  • Provide instruction for in-home exercise programs and conduct biomechanical assessments.
  • Provide casting services ordered by the physician and assist with daily administration of clinic duties.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to athletic trainers for the rehabilitation of all levels of athletic injury.
Qualifications
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
  • Manual therapy skills applicable to orthopedics and sports medicine.
  • Knowledge of athletic injury prevention and the administration of therapeutic modalities, devices, and rehabilitation techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Athletic Trainer Certification (ATC).
  • Ability to work as a collaborative team member.
  • Ability to read and understand medical terminology.
  • Ability to problem solve, prioritize, and organize work.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
