About the Role

Bethel University is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Campus Safety Officer to join our team. As a key member of our safety and security team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol and Surveillance: Conduct regular patrols of university property to maintain a visible presence and deter potential security threats.
  • Incident Response: Respond to and investigate incidents, including accidents, crimes, and emergencies, and take appropriate action to ensure the safety of those involved.
  • Security Services: Provide security services, including lockouts, jump starts, and safe walks, and assist with traffic flow and parking management.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of incidents, security checks, and other relevant information.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with university staff, faculty, and students to ensure a safe and secure environment, and communicate effectively with emergency services and other external agencies as needed.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A high school education or equivalent, with relevant experience in safety and security.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English, and a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand and walk for long periods, climb stairs and ladders, and lift up to 40 pounds with assistance.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, both indoors and outdoors, in a variety of weather conditions. They will be required to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
