Shambaugh & Son, a subsidiary of EMCOR Group, Inc., is seeking a skilled Fire Protection Designer to join our team. As a Fire Protection Designer, you will be responsible for designing and laying out fire sprinkler systems using AutoCAD/HydraCAD and creating hydraulic calculations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and layout of fire sprinkler systems
  • Read, analyze, and interpret contract documents, including construction drawings and specifications
  • Write, plan, coordinate, and present to individuals and groups
  • Work with mathematical concepts, including hydraulic calculations and project cost analysis
  • Develop positive relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction
  • Provide fire sprinkler designs using AutoCAD, HydraCAD, AutoSprink, and Revit
  • Responsible for BIM modeling and field surveying
  • Provide lists for fabrication and coordinate between trades

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and mathematical aptitude, with attention to detail
  • Good working knowledge of hydraulic calculations and ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities under time constraints
  • Flexible to be available as needed to travel to client sites
