Key Responsibilities:
  • Pesticide Application: Proper application of pesticides using GPS-enabled sprayers to ensure optimal turf health and minimize environmental impact.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee pesticide ordering and inventory to ensure efficient use of resources and minimize waste.
  • Irrigation Management: Manage and repair irrigation systems to ensure proper functionality and efficiency, minimizing water waste and optimizing turf health.
  • Moisture Management: Oversee moisture management specifically for T1 bentgrass greens and tees, and Kentucky bluegrass fairways, ensuring optimal turf health and minimizing disease and pest issues.
  • Staff Management: Assist the Superintendent in leading and managing a multicultural staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration.
Desired Qualifications and Traits:
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of golf course maintenance experience or currently enrolled in a Turfgrass Management program.
  • Education: A two-year or four-year degree in Turfgrass Management is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Licensing: Ability to obtain a pesticide license within 90 days.
  • Self-motivated: Proactive, eager to learn, and capable of educating others on best practices in golf course maintenance.
  • Work Ethic: Willingness to work long hours and versatility in all aspects of course maintenance, including flexibility to adapt to changing weather conditions and course demands.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in approach, ensuring high standards are consistently met and golf course maintenance is performed to the highest level of quality.
  • Positive Attitude: Maintains a positive and constructive attitude in the workplace, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Language Skills: Spanish speaking is a plus, but not required.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience (DOE $75,000-$85,000).
