Construction Superintendent Job Description

About the Role:

Hernandez Consulting & Construction is seeking a highly skilled Construction Superintendent to join its team. As a key member of our construction management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of construction projects, ensuring timely completion, and maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Expedite scheduled builds, maintaining a strong focus on project timelines.
  • Prepare and maintain company reports, including weekly and monthly updates.
  • Notify clients and architects of potential time delays, changes, payments, and labor disputes.
  • Maintain safety control, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Administer client and subcontractor contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Expedite material deliveries and labor to the project site.
  • Maintain delivery schedules for all materials and equipment.
  • Prepare subcontractor change orders, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Maintain project budget and cost control, ensuring adherence to company financial standards.
  • Maintain organization of the project job site office and site, ensuring a clean and efficient workspace.
  • Maintain quality control, production control, and job site administration, ensuring high-quality standards.
  • Maintain job site files, including contract documents and as-built drawings.
  • Prepare monthly cost reports and coordinate projections with the Project Manager.
  • Submit weekly labor reports, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Keep management advised of all potential issues or problems, ensuring prompt resolution.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent or equivalent role.
  • Extensive technical and practical knowledge of construction practices and methods.
  • Ability to prepare or review technical engineering specifications and statements of work.
  • Knowledge of construction management software, including Primavera SureTrak and other scheduling software packages.
  • OSHA 30 and QA/QC Training are a plus.
  • Military Veterans are a plus.
