We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Supervisor to join our Operations Team at The Salvation Army. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the transportation department, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods and materials.
Key Responsibilities- Direct and supervise a team of drivers and material handlers, providing training and coaching to ensure they meet the highest standards of performance.
- Dispatch trucks daily, ensuring timely delivery of store products and maintaining neat and orderly donation sites.
- Supervise the donation operations, including donation attendant training, donation locations, and donor relations, to ensure a quality donation experience for donors.
- Review and approve direct report timecards, ensuring compliance with Wage and Hours requirements.
- Ensure the safe operation of loading and unloading equipment, including carts, dollies, and flat carts.
- Develop and implement safety measures to maintain a safe working environment, in accordance with ARC policy and government regulations.
- Contribute to driving company culture change efforts and change management processes.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- Minimum five years of experience in light industrial, transportation, or operations management.
- Minimum two years of supervisory experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees and donors.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform various repetitive motion tasks.
