Paraprofessional - Exceptional Student Education Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional I and II to join our team at McDonough High School. As a key member of our exceptional student education team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs.
About the RoleThis is a non-exempt position that reports to the Principal and/or assigned supervisor. The salary schedule is P3 (Para II) or P3-1 (Para I).
Key Responsibilities- Lead small group exercises to reinforce instruction and co-teach lesson components as assigned by the teacher.
- Monitor and supervise students, providing academic, emotional, and physical support as necessary.
- Assist with preparation of materials for instruction, including copying/duplicating materials, constructing display/bulletin boards, learning centers, and manipulatives.
- Perform necessary clerical tasks as required.
- Check students in every morning, collect parent communication, and send it to the office.
- Participate in lesson planning sessions and communicate with parents and school officials.
- Maintain the integrity of confidential information related to students and staff.
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain professional practices.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE).
- Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
- Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
- Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
- Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
- Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
- Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.
- Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
