We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Paraprofessional to join our team at Henry County Schools. The successful candidate will provide exceptional support to students in grades K-2, working closely with teachers to reinforce instruction and promote academic success.
Key Responsibilities- Support Student Learning: Lead small group exercises to reinforce instruction and co-teach lesson components as assigned by the teacher.
- Supervise and Support Students: Monitor and supervise students, providing academic, emotional, and physical support as necessary.
- Assist with Lesson Preparation: Assist with preparation of materials for instruction, including copying/duplicating of materials, construction of display/bulletin boards, learning centers, and manipulatives.
- Clerical Support: Perform necessary clerical tasks as required.
- Student Check-in and Communication: Check students in every morning, collect parent communication, and send to the office. Collect and organize money sent in for ice cream, fundraisers, pictures, etc., and send to the bookkeeper.
- Collaboration and Communication: Participate in lesson planning sessions, communicate with parents and school officials, and maintain integrity of confidential information related to students and staff.
- Customer Service and Professionalism: Provide exceptional customer service on a daily basis and maintain professional practices.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE), required.
- Integrity and Confidentiality: Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
- Professional Standards: Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
- Reliability and Attendance: Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
- Physical Demands: Ability to perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting. Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
- Supervision and Emergency Response: Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.
- Essential Skills: Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
