Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Account Representative to join our team at Reno Behavioral Healthcare Hospital. As a key member of our Business Office, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient patient billing and financial operations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Verify insurance information and interview patients or relatives to obtain pertinent data and verify coverage
  • Enter data into computer systems with accuracy and prepare billing packets
  • Balance daily stats and update reports for outpatient and inpatient services
  • Estimate patient responsibility and provide financial options to patients and authorized family members
  • Set up payment arrangements with self-pay patients and collect payments when applicable
  • Prepare deposits and refunds as needed
  • Respond to CBO inquiries and resolve claim resolutions in a timely manner
  • Download and analyze reports from AIS to ensure proper format and content

Requirements:

  • High school degree or equivalent required; two years' healthcare experience preferred
  • Knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding helpful; demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing
  • Maintain confidentiality of patients at all times and possess strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team
