Powder Production Specialist

Job Summary:

Hentzen Coatings is seeking a skilled Powder Associate to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for verifying, documenting, assembling, mixing, blending, and grinding materials to create accurate batches of product that meet customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately follow batch ticket instructions to produce specific products.
  • Assemble accurate measurements of materials using scales and gather other equipment and ingredients as needed.
  • Follow setup guidelines to utilize best starting points for production runs.
  • Complete proper documentation, including batch tickets, correctly and accurately.
  • Enter data into the ERP system accurately.
  • Clean up and safely store equipment used, adhering to all clean-up and housekeeping procedures.
  • Communicate with QC, Supervisors, Team Leads, and other Powder Associates to share critical information.
  • Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
  • Participate in the disposal of hazardous waste, with initial training provided by the Environmental and Safety Coordinator or department supervisor.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Team Lead, Supervisor, or Manager.

Requirements:

  • Preferred education level: high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Preferred experience level: three to twelve months of related manufacturing experience with basic knowledge of paint formulation, mixing procedures, and ability to use related manufacturing equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Computer experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals.
  • Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner.
  • Ability to operate a forklift with forklift driving certification strongly preferred and use a pallet jack.
  • Must be detail-oriented with ability to multi-task.
  • Clean work habits and skill in handling large volumes of powder and raw materials.
  • Basic math skills and ability to convert various measurements.

Work Environment:

The employee is frequently required to talk and/or hear, stand and/or walk, use hands to finger, handle or touch objects or controls, and move from place to place. The employee is regularly required to sit, balance, stoop, and occasionally reach above shoulders. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 65 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.

Personal Protection Equipment is required during various processes in the production area. Safety shoes, glasses, and flame-retardant uniforms or lab coats are required in the production area. Respirators and ear plugs may be required when performing certain production activities.
