Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Line Manager to join our team at Hanover Foods. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for managing and operating an assigned production line in a safe and productive manner, while maintaining predetermined quality standards in accordance with guidelines established by management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and operate the frozen packaging line operations under the direction of the Production (Shift) Supervisor.
  • Responsible for operating the line production equipment and directing the employees on respective lines (poly bag machine, case packers, etc.).
  • Makes change overs and does wash downs as specified on the production schedule.
  • Helps to control quality and quantity of work performed by this group and ensures production output is according to standards as determined by management.
  • Assists maintenance personnel in trouble shooting the line and/or with equipment issues and reports concerns to management.
  • Keeps the Production (Shift) Supervisor advised of problems or line stoppages as outlined in the rules of operation.
  • Ensures proper materials, ingredients and codes are used in the packaging of respective products.
  • Completes necessary paperwork neatly and accurately, as required.
  • Reports mechanical and/or safety concerns to management immediately.
  • Works and cooperates with other lines as needed to assist in line operation - from training new leaders to trouble shooting line problems.
  • Directs line personnel, as necessary.
  • Responsible for all coding on boxes and bags and assures that product is produced within specifications.
  • Must be able to physically lift 75 pounds as required.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift as needed.
  • Checks and confirms that the wheels are chocked in the trailers being loaded.
  • Adheres to common safety practices and procedures including the wearing of protective equipment and clothing as required.
  • Keeps work area clean in accordance with good housekeeping practices.
  • Adheres to plant hygiene standards to ensure high product integrity.
  • Responsible for the execution of food safety, legality and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities such as but not limited to: GMP's, HACCP, safety, product quality, food security, plant security, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Freezer's Production (Shift) Supervisor
Requirements
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Good communication skills
  • Must be able to work overtime as required
  • Must maintain a good attendance record
  • Must have initiative and demonstrate the qualities of a leader by showing cooperation, desire, leadership, aggressiveness, interest, and self-motivation.
