Position Summary:

We are seeking a qualified Structural Engineer (PE preferred) with a focus on inspection and rehabilitation (I&R) and a strong background in marine and waterfront projects to enhance our Seattle or Federal Way, WA office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed plans, specifications, and cost estimates to support waterfront infrastructure projects.
  • Address design challenges through field investigations, inspections, and detailed design work.
  • Conduct construction quantity estimates.
  • Oversee and coordinate the work of junior engineers and CAD designers as needed.
  • Perform analysis, design, and inspection of waterfront structures and related maritime projects.
  • Engage in structural analysis and design using timber, steel, concrete, and composite materials.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects and project managers, on complex projects.
  • Conduct structural site inspections and generate comprehensive inspection reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required.
  • A Master's degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in waterfront design, particularly with ports, marinas, and related structures.
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification is required.
  • Professional Registration in Washington is preferred or the ability to obtain it within one year.
  • Experience with Department of Defense (DOD) projects is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD is essential.
  • Familiarity with software such as SAP2000, STAAD, and LPile is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license in good standing is required.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) is necessary.
  • Compliance with pre-employment drug screening and background checks is mandatory.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is $38.00 to $59.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and professional registration.

Physical Requirements:

This role primarily involves office work, with occasional site visits that may require navigating uneven terrain while carrying equipment.
