About the Role

The Sample Preparation Technician P3 will play a critical role in our laboratory team, working independently with client samples to prepare them for analysis. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment by following established safety protocols and ALS best practices.
  • Operate and maintain analytical balances in accordance with ALS procedures.
  • Weigh pulp samples accurately within ALS established weight ranges and standardized work instructions.
  • Inspect prepared pulp samples for poor homogeneity and identify any issues.
  • Report quality concerns to the supervisor, including equipment problems and suspected sample mix-ups.
  • Use Webview to locate, transport, and update the disposition of client samples.
  • Wash labware using correct lab procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Safely dispose of sample solution waste using correct lab procedures.
  • Recommend ideas for safety, quality, or productivity improvements.
  • May create digestion run batches on Webview with assistance.
  • May assist in training new employees.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 months' work experience in a production-oriented environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 20lbs.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand at a computer for up to 7.5 hours.
  • Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks.
