The Quality Assurance Specialist collaborates with various teams to address supplier quality challenges, establish raw material specifications, resolve customer complaints, and ensure compliance with industry standards. A primary focus of this role is to analyze and rectify trends in customer complaints. Additionally, this position is crucial in leading supplier quality initiatives and addressing issues that present opportunities for enhancement across the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Internal Quality Assurance activities, including directing Quality Inspectors and managing Quality Hold processes.
  • Develop and maintain a centralized customer specification system.
  • Implement and sustain a centralized quality data collection system.
  • Conduct analytical evaluations of machine processes to identify areas for quality enhancement, including designed experiments and process capability studies.
  • Establish and maintain necessary quality gauging for production.
  • Design and execute 'fit for use' tests for both existing and new product lines.
  • Facilitate Quality Performance Management troubleshooting teams using analytical methods.
  • Provide leadership and vision in quality management.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to high-quality standards and support food safety and quality systems.
  • Maintain compliance with workplace safety standards.
  • Act as a backup to the Quality Director in their absence.
  • Additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent technical experience, preferably in a quality or chemistry discipline. A minimum of 3 years of experience in food processing or packaging manufacturing is preferred.
  • Possess a systematic and methodical approach to tasks with a solid understanding of problem-solving techniques.
  • Familiarity with quality systems and auditing procedures.
  • Ability to lead teams and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Experience in developing and implementing personal and team development programs.
