About the RoleThe Senior Policy Coordinator will play a critical role in driving policy changes that address racial and social inequities in maternal and child health. This position will engage with policymakers, advocate for systemic improvements in early care and education, and collaborate with internal teams to advance key policy initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Advocate for policy changes that promote equity and justice in maternal and child health.
- Collaborate with policymakers to develop and implement policies that address racial and social inequities.
- Work closely with MCC's direct service and communications teams to advance key policy initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze legislation related to maternal and child health, early care, education, and economic security.
- Craft policy briefs, white papers, and blog posts that advocate for solutions grounded in lived experiences.
- Lead coalitions and campaigns aimed at addressing disparities in maternal and child health.
- 1-3 years of public policy or grassroots advocacy experience, preferably in the nonprofit or public sector.
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Public Health, Political Science, or related Social Science degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Familiarity with Philadelphia and/or Pennsylvania government and political processes is a plus.
- Hybrid work environment with flexibility to work from home and any of MCC's office locations.
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
