Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of all patrons by proactively preventing and responding to emergencies, while providing leadership to lifeguards and other facility personnel.
- Oversee lifeguard staff during scheduled shifts, including managing rotations, maintaining cleanliness, utilizing appropriate chemicals, and ensuring completion of daily facility checklists.
- Assist in training lifeguard personnel in effective water rescue techniques and CPR/First Aid procedures.
- Monitor and enforce all facility rules and regulations to avert accidents or emergencies.
- Educate patrons regarding facility rules and regulations.
- Maintain vigilant surveillance of patrons; respond swiftly to emergencies and administer first aid as necessary.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for all facility users.
- Communicate effectively with the lifeguard team and facility staff for additional support during emergencies.
- Deliver high-quality customer service to all patrons.
- Complete and submit all required daily documentation during assigned shifts.
- Participate in all scheduled in-service training sessions and staff meetings.
- Maintain good physical fitness and strong job-related competencies.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Minimum age of 16. Must possess American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification with Waterfront and First Aid, CPR & AED Certification. Previous experience in peer management or supervision is preferred, or the ability to demonstrate relevant skill sets. Strong communication and customer service abilities are essential, along with the capacity to work with individuals of all ages. Must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions and maintain good physical condition while demonstrating professional skills in safety, alertness, responsibility, initiative, good judgment, and cleanliness.
Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:
This role typically involves intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, walking, bending, or crouching. The employee frequently lifts light and heavy objects and operates tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity. The employee must be able to distinguish between shades of color.
Exposure to noise, dust, dirt, grease, machinery, moving parts, contagious or infectious diseases, irritating chemicals, and various weather conditions is common. The position requires the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, or gloves.
