Job Title: Lifeguard

At JCPRD, we're seeking a highly skilled and energetic Lifeguard to join our team. As a Lifeguard, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our patrons at our aquatic facilities.

Job Summary:

The Lifeguard will be responsible for preventing and responding to emergencies at our indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities. This includes maintaining constant surveillance of patrons, enforcing facility rules and regulations, and providing quality customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Observe and enforce all rules and regulations of the facility to prevent accidents or emergency situations.
  • Educate and inform patrons of the rules and regulations of the facility.
  • Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; respond quickly to all emergencies and administer first aid as needed.
  • Help to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary facility.
  • Communicate with the lifeguard team and facility staff for additional assistance in an emergency.
  • Provide quality customer service for our patrons.
  • Complete all appropriate daily paperwork during assigned shifts.
  • Attend all in-service training sessions and staff meetings.
  • Maintain good physical condition and strong job-related skills.
Work Locations:
  • Shawnee Mission School District Aquatic Center.
  • Shawnee Mission Park Lake Beach.
  • Kill Creek Park Lake Beach.
Requirements:
  • Minimum age of 15.
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification and Waterfront Lifeguard Certification required.
  • American Red Cross First Aid, CPR & AED Certification required.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills along with the ability to work with individuals of all ages.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to maintain good physical condition and maintain professional skills of alertness, responsible, good judgment, and cleanliness.
