Role Responsibilities:
We are seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to enhance patient care within our esteemed cardiac surgery department. This role involves managing patient care from admission through discharge, overseeing both pre-operative and post-operative cases, performing assessments, documenting patient progress, and engaging in interdisciplinary rounds. The position requires the ability to respond to emergencies and provide care for patients with diverse cardiac conditions. Utilize your full skill set in high-acuity situations alongside our distinguished cardiac specialists, benefiting from unparalleled access to premier resources, education, and training.
Position Details:
Role: Open to both Physician Assistants and Acute Care Nurse Practitioners
Setting: Inpatient care focused on cardiac surgery
Schedule: Full-time, 3x13 hour shifts, rotating schedule with premium differentials.
Call Schedule: No on-call responsibilities
Support for Advanced Practice Providers:
· Dedicated advocacy and resources for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants through the Office of Advanced Practice, led by experienced professionals.

· Utilizing advanced tools like EPIC, our clinical and informatics technology enhances patient outcomes, promotes continuity of care, and improves provider satisfaction.

Our facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center and houses the largest robotic surgery center in the Northeast, as well as the Center for Education, Simulation, and Innovation (CESI), a premier medical simulation training facility.

Requirements:
- Licensure: Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligibility)
- Training: Certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
- Experience: New graduates are encouraged to apply
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a PA/APRN in a cardiac or critical care environment
