Family and Consumer Sciences Agent

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Family and Consumer Sciences Agent to join our team. As a key member of our extension team, you will be responsible for delivering educational programs to families and communities on topics such as nutrition, food safety, parenting, and financial management.
About the PositionThis is a full-time, 12-month position that requires frequent night meetings, some weekend work, and attendance at out-of-county meetings. A valid driver's license and access to a reliable private vehicle for official duty travel are required. Reimbursement for business travel will be provided.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement educational programs for families and communities on topics such as nutrition, food safety, parenting, and financial management.
- Collaborate with other agencies and community groups to implement programs and promote Extension programming.
- Utilize current research data and information on emerging issues in program development and teaching.
- Develop and present educational information targeted for different audiences, including 4-H youth development competitions and events.
- Ensure the Civil Rights/Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action plan of UGA Cooperative Extension is followed in assigned program responsibilities.
- A Master's degree in Family and Consumer Sciences, Food & Nutrition, Food Science/Safety, Child Care, Health, Human Development, Financial Management, Housing, or related area.
- Ability to speak to/teach large groups of residents, organize and carry out activities and programming for youth, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with county, district, and state staff, local government employees, and clientele.
- Ability to express thoughts clearly and concisely through written and verbal communication, work as a team member, and engage with groups and committees.
